Scholars get their day off to a great start with a hot breakfast provided by Metro Action Commission and served with love.

To get everyone ready for a day of learning and fun, we celebrate with cheers and chants and a special Read-Aloud Guest during a time of Harambee, which is Swahili for “Let’s pull together.”
9:00 a.m.
Activity-oriented Integrated Reading Curriculum exposes, inspires and delights. Â Scholars read books written by BIPOC authors with characters that look like them and share their lived experiences. Stories celebrate the beauty of Black heritage and culture.
11:45 a.m.
Drop Everything and Read. Scholars read age-appropriate books and journal to improve writing skills.
12:00 p.m.
Hot lunch provided by Metro Action Commission and served with love.
1:00 p.m.
Afternoon enrichment includes hip-hop poetry, field trips, dance, yoga, vocal music/music appreciation, crafts, and visual arts
3:00 p.m.
Joyful wrap up and dismissal. We are grateful for another powerful day made possible by our scholars, families, Servant Leader Interns, volunteers and donors.
